Kentucky Fried Chicken?

So El Pollo Loco has brought it to our attention that KFC is using "Rendered beef fat" in their new grilled chicken recipe. Just goes to show you that you never know what you're going to get!

Here's a list of ingredients~

KFC Grilled Chicken is made of chicken, salt, sodium phosphate, MSG, maltodextrin, bleached wheat flower, partially hydrogenated soybean and cottonseed oil, spices, palm oil, natural flavor (?), garlic powder, Soy sauce, chicken fat, chicken broth, autolyzed yeast, beef powder, rendered beef fat, extractives of tumeric, dehydrated carrot, onion powder, calcium silicate, silicon dioxide.

By the way "Natural flavor" can be a lot of things!
Here is one example -natural flavor is produced in laboratories to give flavor to processed foods that lose almost all flavor through the processes of freezing, dehydrating, and canning. It is made from infinitesimal amounts of chemicals, or more so a collection of gases.

Even if you are not a vegetarian, you should still care about what you eat. Keep it as natural (truly natural) as possible. Avoid chemicals. Food should not be poisonous.
